Donald Trump’s quid pro quo allowed House Republicans to use Russian Agents to attack President Biden.
In the middle of 2019, Trump put forward a quid pro quo to Ukraine. Trump would agree to a White House visit from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if Ukraine agreed to investigate Burisma. Ukraine was told to “talk to Rudy”.
Later on a phone call, Trump directly told Zelensky that he wanted an investigation into the Biden family and said he would have Giuliani call Zelensky. Trump also revealed on that call why he really wanted these investigations, he was upset about the Mueller investigation into Russian election interference on behalf of Trump.
Trump wanted to manufacture corruption against Biden to minimize his corruption.
Zelensky didn’t know during that phone call that Trump had already ordered military aid to be withheld from Ukraine unless they agreed to perform these investigations. Only once Trump was aware of an upcoming whistleblower statement about the withheld aid did he release it for Ukraine.
This was only the beginning.
The straightforward fact is that Russia did interfere in the 2016 election, and did so again in the 2020 election as well. Mueller’s report confirmed Russian interference and highlighted Trump associates and his son had met with Russian agents to exchange information.
Senate Republicans also investigated and released a report confirming Russian election interference. Even Durham, who was assigned to burst holes in the Russian collusion narrative, confirmed that the Mueller report was accurate and that Trump associates had knowingly met with Russian agents.
Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman for the 2016 presidential election, was found guilty of conspiracy against the United States and for conspiracy to obstruct justice for attempting to tamper with witnesses when he was being investigated for his ties to a Russian agent.
As mentioned above, Trump did attempt a quid pro quo twice in regard to Ukraine and attempted to create dirt on Joe Biden to influence the 2020 election. The impeachment against Trump was significant, valid, and essential for our country. But Senate Republicans decided to stand with party over country and make it go away.
From there, Republicans began a campaign of calling everything related to Russia a hoax.
Bill Barr tried to undermine the Mueller report by lying about its findings, it worked. Trump repeated “Russia, Russia, Russia” to belittle the situation, and it also worked. The media moved on from Russia influencing our elections and from Russian agents meeting with presidential campaigns. Trump continued his political career and is now the leading Republican candidate for President once again.
MAGA Republicans are doing everything in their power to make sure Trump gets elected. That includes drumming up sham impeachments against Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas to downplay Trump’s impeachments further.
At the core of the impeachment inquiry against President Biden is the manufactured conspiracy based on “talk to Rudy.”
Rudy Giuliani went to Ukraine and ended up meeting with Russian agents who were in Ukraine to develop and further this conspiracy. Here are a few of the key players:
Alexander Smirnov - a criminal with Russian intelligence contacts who was the key informant behind the Biden impeachment inquiry. He has just been arrested by the FBI for lying about everything, for creating this conspiracy.
Oleksander Dubinksy - a Ukrainian who directly worked with Giuliani on the conspiracy and who has been sanctioned by the US government, had his assets frozen, had his YouTube channel shut down, has been charged with subversion information in regards to lying about the 2020 election, and has been accused of treason for helping Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Andrii Derkach - former Ukrainian who lost his citizenship for being a Russian asset. He released fake snippets of a supposed conversation between Biden and Ukrainian President Poroshenko.
Kostiantyn Kulyk - fled Ukraine after being indicted on multiple corruption charges, he was going to meet with Giuliani to spread the conspiracy.
Dmytro Firtash - has Russian mafia connections and wanted a quid pro quo with Giuliani to help spread the conspiracy.
Ihor Kolesnikov - former Soviet GRU officer who was organizing efforts for the above Ukrainians, such as press conferences. Sentenced to 15 years for treason.
Vladimir Alekseyevin - Russian GRU officer who coordinated the Russian involvement in the conspiracy
It is clear House Republicans knew all of this before launching their impeachment investigation.
They knew of the Senate Republican report debunking the Giuliani conspiracy, which found no wrongdoing by Joe Biden. They also knew that the FD-1023 form that they created all the fuss about was an unconfirmed allegation by an informant, Alexander Smirnov.
Despite all of this, House Republicans pushed forward. They subpoenaed Joe Biden’s financial records, combed through them for months, and found no wrongdoing.
They brought in witness after witness, including Hunter Biden’s former business partners, and every single witness said that Joe Biden was never involved in the businesses, never talked about the businesses, and that there was no wrongdoing of any kind by Joe Biden.
Republicans held a public impeachment inquiry hearing, during which their own experts told them that there was no basis for an impeachment inquiry. This embarrassment caused Republicans to hold no more public hearings. Instead, they held closed-door hearings, during which they could intentionally lie about the testimony for weeks until finally releasing the transcripts that proved the opposite of what Republicans claimed.
Even now that their core witness has been outed as a complete fraud who was working for Russia to spread disinformation and sow doubt in American elections, House Republican Jim Jordan just spoke to the media saying that it doesn’t change the facts of the impeachment inquiry. I agree, because the facts are that it has always been a sham based on Russian disinformation in order to help Donald Trump.
Russia was never a hoax. Those who read the reports and looked at the facts always knew it wasn’t a hoax, but talking about it became a strange taboo that people weren’t supposed to do as it was somehow seen as a waste of time or an old topic.
Yet here we are.
Trump just told Russia that if he is reelected, Russia can attack our NATO allies and Trump will not defend them.
The same MAGA Republicans who have been pushing the sham Russia agent impeachment against President Biden are the ones who are blocking aid to Ukraine. They are preventing our ally from getting the aid they need to hold back a tyrannical Russian invasion.
A key Senator against Ukrainian aid is Rand Paul. Trump had Rand Paul hand deliver a note to Putin in Russia during his presidency.
Russian agents interfered with and launched a disinformation campaign to influence the 2016 election, the 2020 election, and most certainly are doing so with the 2024 election.
The question is: Will America go back to ignoring the fact that Trump and MAGA are linked directly to Russian agents who want to undermine our Democracy? Or are we going to finally face the problem head on, hold people accountable, and ensure that we don’t once again end up with a President who is loyal to Putin?
