Thank You, Mr. President
President Biden decided to withdraw from the 2024 election before becoming the official nominee at the Democratic National Convention.
In a letter released earlier today, Biden discussed some of his administration's accomplishments, thanked the American people, and said he felt that it was in the best interest of the Democratic party and the nation for him to stand down from the upcoming election.
President Biden is the most legislatively successful President in modern history. I have written extensively about his successes and his presidency: the world’s best economy, booming manufacturing, infrastructure projects breaking ground across the nation, unions at their strongest in decades, crime plummeting, wages growing, stock markets breaking records, border crossings the lowest in years, and inflation reigned back in. Biden took a nation in turmoil from the pandemic and an insurrection, tackled global inflation better than the rest of the world, and created global coalitions to combat Russia’s tyranny and Iran’s aggression.
This presidency is one of the best in US history. Biden will be remembered for his decades of public service, which ended with him gracefully stepping aside not for himself but to heal his party and protect the nation from Trump’s authoritarian aspirations and the threat to democracy that the MAGA Republicans and Project 2025 represent.
In a separate message, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee. Several other Democrats have followed suit and endorsed Harris as well. But that does not guarantee Harris the nomination. Other Democrats could still challenge her, leaving some uncertainty over the next few weeks.
Thank you, President Biden, for all that you did to get our nation back on the right track and restore America’s standing on the world stage.
